Crispy chickpeas are so versatile. They can be enjoyed as a crunchy vegan snack or tossed into a salad added texture. Chickpeas are high in protein and they’re just delicious. I snack on these like corn nuts. Less guilt with just as much satisfaction. Here is how to make crispy chickpeas…

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • olive oil
  • salt + pepper
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • smoked paprika
  • cumin powder

For equipment, you will only need a baking sheet.

How to make crispy chickpeas

You will start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Open up your can of chickpeas and rinse it off thoroughly. If you used dry chickpeas, make sure you have soaked them in water for at least 8 hours (over night.) Pat the chickpeas dry. Spread the chickpeas onto your baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika and cumin powder. I just dash it on to taste. Spread them all around to make sure the flavors are evenly dispersed. Put them into the oven for 30 minutes. Take them out and allow it them to cool before serving. Try them out and see how you like the taste or texture. You can add more seasoning if you like. I sometimes like to turn off the oven and keep the chickpeas in for another 5-10 minutes if I want them extra crispy.

Store it in the fridge or even in the pantry if you get them extra crispy. I like to keep mine in a small glass jar.

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • salt + pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse off and pat the chickpeas dry. Spread onto the baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil, salt, papper + seasonings.
  • Mix together to make sure all flavors and evenly dispersed.
  • Put in oven for 30 minutes. Take out, carefully taste a chickpea. Option to add more seasoning based on taste. You can keep the chickpeas in for 5-10 minutes longer if you'd like them to be more crispy. It's all on preference. Enjoy!
